There are many cabins in Hocking Hills that do not allow children for various reasons. As I cordially explained to this reviewer when she contacted us, we are an adult-only cabin because we are a four-level structure with multiple stairs and high-up decks so our "no-child" policy applies for obvious reasons. We are not a child-friendly cabin. Although we love children, we try to provide a quiet and relaxing atmosphere for grown-ups needing to get away from the stresses of life. I then nicely suggested a family-friendly cabin in the area and even gave her the web-site address. I thought all was fine until I saw her review.
We had a great time at the Big Pine Tree house! It was extremely well kept; the owners were very easy to work with and kept in contact to make sure everything was going well. Julie even made a cake since I had told her it was my fiance's birthday and wrote a personalized thank you card for our stay. There is no internet or phone service (we all had verizon) which was only an issue because my sister/brother-inlaw had a babysitter to keep in touch with but we were able to drive 5 minutes down the road to keep in touch (the owners did disclose that this may be an issue before I booked which was nice). The owner was also extremely helpful with giving us ideas for hiking/things to do. Overall it was a very wonderful experience that I would highly recommend.
It is a shame that this person found it important to leave spiteful feedback for a place where she never even patronized. Hopefully she will find a child-friendly cabin and enjoy all what Hocking Hills has to offer.
I go to Hocking Hills often and wanted to try something different. I found the Big Pine Tree House. Me and my friends fell in love with this gem!!! Plenty of space...four levels. Fantastic architecture! Plenty of extras that other cabins don't offer and homemade brownies left for us as well. This place is a value for what you get! We will be back!
What a uniquely beautiful cabin...a 'tree house' indeed! This special cabin is truly unique. You are surrounded entirely by rustic log details, including unique hand made stair railings. The cabin is broken into several levels which adds to it's charm, but also makes the 'no children' rule understandable (personally, we enjoyed the little break from ours! Great romantic getaway). Loved the owner's little touches, including artwork and a sweet welcome basket. Spent as much time as possible on the front deck. The windchimes were a nice touch. Clean, comfortable, and unique. Great owners. Will be back!
I am responding to the previous review left by someone who was upset we do not allow children to stay at our cabin. Just to verify, this person did not even stay at our cabin.
This cabin is the most amazing getaway EVEEEER!! A perfect place to go with my husband and leave the children at home for a while. I love this beautiful and unique paradise and will keep coming back for more. Hello Ms. Baker, why the heck would you want to bring your children here anyway? This place is not for minors.
